Getting there / Parking / Directions / Transportation

By Bus: Metro Transit operates buses and light rail. Free bus rides are available on Nicollet Mall between Grant Street and Washington Avenue on buses marked "Free Ride" (every 10 minutes weekdays, every 15-30 minutes weekends). Other buses in the Downtown Zone charge 50 cents. Use Metro Transit's Trip Planner for door-to-door directions. A Metro Transit Day Pass is available at the Visitor Information Center at the MCC.

By Car: From the West (I-94) or East (I-94): take exit 233A for 11th Street, continue onto S. 11th Street, turn left onto 2nd Ave. S., cross 12th St. S. From the West (I-394): take Exit 9A for 12th Street North, turn right onto N. 12th St., then right onto 2nd Ave. S. From the South (I-35W): keep left onto MN-65 toward Downtown/I-94 W, take the 11th Street exit. From the North (I-35W): take exit 17B to merge onto I-94 west, take exit 233A for 11th Street. The MCC is on the left with underground "Plaza Parking Ramp" on the immediate right; additional parking ramp on 3rd Ave. S. See Public Event Parking for all options. Drop-off/pick-up locations (accessibility, bus, Lyft, Uber, public transportation) are on 2nd Avenue South in front of the building.

By Bike: Minneapolis boasts a complex network of bike paths and trails. Bikes are available to rent from various companies via their apps (Lyft, Lime). See Where to Rent a Bike in Minneapolis and biking routes. Bike racks are located in front of the building near each entrance.

By Taxi: Lyft and Uber services are available from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (Terminal 1 Lindbergh Station and Terminal 2 Humphrey Station) and drop off at 2nd Avenue South in front of the building.

By Walking: The Minneapolis Skyway System links most of downtown with above-ground climate-controlled walkways, connecting the MCC to most spots in downtown Minneapolis without stepping outside.

By Plane: From Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport Terminal 1 Lindbergh Station: head northwest, merge onto MN-5 E, follow MN-55 W/MN-62 W, exit onto Hiawatha Ave., merge onto I-94 west, take exit 233A for 11th Street. From Terminal 2 Humphrey Station: head east toward E 72nd St., turn left onto 34th Ave. S., continue onto Post Rd., merge onto MN-5 E, follow MN-55 W/MN-62 W, exit onto Hiawatha Ave., merge onto I-94 W, take exit 233A for 11th St. Airport options include Car Rental, Lyft/Uber services, and Metro Transit (city bus and light rail).
